Winning with a Growth Mindset

#growthmindset #growthhacks #success

If we’re connected on any social media platform, you’ve quickly noticed that I share a lot of inspirational and motivational messages. This helps me in branding myself and my business and shows you where I’m coming from. I’ve always pushed forward in life with a winning attitude and growth mindset (my life word is Perseverance).

That’s not to say that I always win - on the contrary my biggest learning moments have been when I didn’t hit that predefined mark but I always won something as a result of that experience. See the tweak in thinking here - not failure just reaching a different result than initially expected. Which is a WIN!

I’m sure you’ve heard the term Growth Mindset - but do you know what it means? Instilling a growth mindset is how I approach coaching clients to reach more WINS. I work with entrepreneurs, business leaders tasked with continually reaching growth metrics to create strategic plans based on their goals (getting more appointments, closing more business, attracting top candidates, whatever!) and put actionable targeted steps in place they can execute on.

Growth mindset is a term coined by Psychologist Carol Dweck. According to Dweck, a growth mindset is when “[i]ndividuals... believe their talents can be developed (through hard work, good strategies, and input from others)” I had a growth mindset before it was a ‘thing.’ I believe in seeking wise counsel surrounding myself with smart people, staying up-to-date with thought leaders such as Dweck, being calculated and bottomline, I put in the time to make things work for the WIN.

We are all in this together, by ourselves. ~ Lily Tomlin

There isn’t just one sweet spot there are many sweet spots, you just need to find them! I guarantee you WINS if you shed the fixed mindset (if I don’t close the sale or if no one will pick up the phone this week when I call, I’ve failed & therefore I’m a failure) and embrace a growth mindset.

A growth mindset is how I approach working with clients. I see my role as a partner and Performance Coach who helps clients focus more on the process (mindset) and actions (steps the client takes) to strategically reach the intended outcome (specific goal). Of course this takes time on my part to research clients' industry-specific needs, an arsenal of tools (from motivation to productivity to success hacks) to be able to advocate for their success.

We are all full of errors, let us mutually pardon each other, our follies it is the first law of nature. ~ Voltaire

I’d love to hear from you to see how a growth mindset has worked for you and allowed you to be successful. Or even better, if you have a fixed (self-limiting) mindset and you are a firm believer in that method.

If you aren’t connected with me on social media - what are you waiting for? Let’s connect all the places you are: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and support each other.

Bottomline, my Growth Hack tip is to stop having a self-limiting (fixed) mindset. Be open to being wildly successful! Let’s take growth on LinkedIn for example (but it could be anything that fits your situation). Pick a goal (start small if you haven’t ventured out yet) such as connecting with 40 new targeted connections over the month of June - which is very doable! Go to a targeted company’s LinkedIn business page click on See all XXX employees on LinkedIn and BAM - you have access to everyone who’s worked or currently works there. You can see everyone...now what you do next with that information? Plan your message, connect with them and start a relationship

Check out my new website with my social media links to access growth hacks and performance coaching tips. It takes time to embrace and live a growth mindset; I’ve planted the seed, you need to water it so it will grow.
